What do u guys think abt a Unit magazine/newsletter though I doubt it will happen anytime soon maybe in 2-3 yrs if some1 decides to pick up the project and of cos we need money. I got the idea fr Cat High. CoverBackThis mag/newsletter is fr 2004, can't rmb how I got it but fr the title it looks like it was given out during their campfire. Honestly I nv bothered to read much of it but it mostly covers their activities for the year. Content & Co-editor's msgUbin Training Camp5th Malacca JamboreeThe whole mag's able 25 pages and is their 45th issue. Most of the articles are not done in the typical reporter/3rd person style but as a story told from the author(s) point of view so it takes quite a bit of contribution from members of the Unit and even outside the Unit, unless Cat High got Cadet Scouts (there r a couple of stories involving Cadet Scouts). What U guys think ideas, opinuon... volunteers?

It all depends on number of pages, colour, black & white, quality, quantity, etc. Up 2 the committee to find out.

I decided to give this 'project' a start with a simple black & white 2 page Newletter which will mainly contain articles/comments about the Sentosa trip (and other stuff if ppl contribute any).
I'm hoping to 'publish' 1 issue every 1 - 3 mths so I'm calling on everyone to contribute stuff like:
1. funny and/or interesting things that have happened to you (especially the old boys).
2. Jokes/Quotes, especially original stuff.
3. Even Advertisements, for free of cos since I doubt anyone will pay us. ;D
4. Original art-work and/or comics. (I'm working to this w/ a friend)

Hey guys I'm starting the Newsletter, the 1st Vol. (Oct 2008) will be about the Sentosa Trip and I'm looking for contributions from people who went there. Things like what U liked, what could be improved, did not like, 20-120 words.
Here are some I have so far:
The Sentosa event was pretty fun on the whole, and the part which I enjoyed the most was the Luge and Skyride. The Luge enabled us to experience a ride similar to 'Initial D', in the case that you get to speed down the hill with its twist and turns. However, the signs to slow down are also to be headed, if not, a lesson can be learnt from our dear friend Gershon who ended up scraping his arm due to falling off his Luge. The Skyride was the best as if gave me the best view of the ships at sea at night (as well as the most romantic one). It had a calming effect as well, that is when I wasn't being fully aware of the fact that I was high above ground (I have a phobia of heights). Overall, I had fun that day. - Amalina SLPA
I feel that the Sentosa trip is really a meaningful event for us as it is probably the only time we get to go out together as a unit to do such fun activities. The price for the trip is also affordable for almost everyone and the activities were not cheap. Playing in the sea was the best but despite the amount of fun I had, I still feel the trip should have been longer! - Jolian Yew Sec.2, APL
The Sentosa trip was really fun especially when I can spend a whole day with all my Scout-mates. The trip was also a good way of celebrating after all the hard work we have contributed to the Unit. I also feel that the price is reasonable and affordable because we had a lot of subsidies. The part which I enjoyed the most was the Luge which I believe most of the people who went for the trip enjoyed.
- Yong Sheng Sec.3, CQM
More contributions the better, currently the newsletter is 2 pages long but if there are enough articles I'll make it 3-4 pages and add a couple more photos.
The newsletter will be out by 24 or 31 Oct.
Thks.
