I've been playing with this idea for about 3-4 yrs now and talked to Jun Rong about it and I think it's probably a good time to bring it up especial since the school no longer has a Sports Day.
It was originally called 'The Southern Cross Sports Cup', the idea is that every 2-3 years for 3-5 weeks the members of the Patrols will compete against other Patrols' members in different sporting events like: 3-on-3 football, basketball, floorball, 100m dash, 200m, 400m, 4x400m, 1000m, 5000m, 100m Swim, shot-putt, javelin, long/high jump, weight-lifting and any other games/sports that may interest the Unit and have enough people to participate.
Participants will receive medals for their wins in different events and earn points to declare an overall winner at the end of the competition period.
What u guys think?

i agree, and i think it should be in the 1st half of the year, before the campfire, this way, we can have more events and have the sec ones start from early on that scouts isnt boring

we can also get some members from the school to participate, but ban any team thats more than half school team and maybe invite other schools, or scout and guide units, like the one some other unit held

I'm hoping to hold the 1st games in 2010, the same time as the Youth Olympics but I'm not sure how often to hold it, I was think bi-annually cos every year will b every expensive (trophies and medals for every event) and time consuming I think but I also think of every 3 - 4 years but what you guys think?
